Innovators in the AI Coding Era　– Rethinking Why We Learn Programming By Ms.Chisato Kunimoto (CEO, Cynthialy inc. / Representative Director, Women AI Initiative Japan) Abstract: We have entered an age where ChatGPT writes code, AI designs experiments, and even drafts research papers. "Is there still any point in having my child learn to program?" Many parents share this concern. Yet this is not the disappearance of meaning—it is a shift in meaning. In an era where AI handles "how to build," what humans are called upon to provide is the power to envision "what to build, and why." In other words, the power of the innovator: someone who discovers problems, frames the right questions, and harnesses AI to bring ideas to life. In this lecture, we will map out the human capabilities that grow more valuable in the age of AI, and illuminate why programming and STEM education still—indeed, now more than ever—hold the key to opening up our children's futures. We will also share practical ways to engage with AI that families can begin today. Not children who are replaced by AI, but children who lead AI to change the world.
