The hype will eventually subside as we learn what AI can really do to add value to the economies of the world. AI is in its infancy (of course), but in general terms, it will be subject to limits just like other resources encounter. Artificial Intelligence-to-data is like oil-to-energy; both of these are key primary resources. Oil is a cheap form of fuel used to create power and drive economic efficiencies. While data (created by human activity) can be input into AI environments for various informational purposes to also drive economic efficiencies. Oil was the primary driver of the advanced economies of the world for over 100 years and the nature of oil and its derivatives shaped products consumed around the world. AI has the potential to be a similar driver of future consumer products and global economies.
