Modern Amateur Astrophotography; Equipment & Imaging Considerations By Dr. Paul E. Cizdziel, Ph.D. (Science Advisor at Laurus International School of Science) Contents: Interest in the night skies and cosmos has exploded in the last few years thanks to the Hubble Telescope and now the James Webb. Also, digital imaging, robotics, light filters and computer power have advanced and come down in price, enabling amateur photographers to capture amazing night sky images. The integrated tools available today to hobbiests did not even exist 10 years ago. Important principles of astrophotography and entry-level equipment to advanced astrophotography systems will be introduced. Images of the Milky Way, star clusters, galaxies, nebulae and comets, all photographed (by the speaker) from Yokohama or various other locations around Kanto, will be shared. Brief history of the speaker: Completed a Ph.D. in Cancer Research (1987) and worked nearly 35 years in the Biotechnology industry in various roles including Marketing, Business Development, Technical Support, etc. Retired in 2023 and joined Laurus Int`l School as a Science Advisor.
