"The 21st century is the Era of Robot and Light" The 21st century has been called the "age of light" or the "age of robots. It is no exaggeration to say that cutting-edge robotics and automated driving technologies also use optical technology and would not be possible without light. For example, we can measure distance with light, recognize objects in images, recognize invisible colors, and other optical technologies that exceed human capabilities are rapidly developing. It is expected that the science and technology of light will continue to develop in the future, and for this reason it is important to have a good understanding of the characteristics of light.
